George. M. Robb, F.R.C.S.C

The Clinic specializes in the treatment of varicose veins and problems associated with varicose veins.

Patients are treated by a team of doctors, highly trained in treating varicose veins, spider veins and related leg problems.

The New Westminster Vein Clinic started from the vein practice of Dr. G. M. Robb. The Clinic has been associated for many years with the Canadian Society of Phlebology, and Dr. Robb has been a Director of the Society for many years and was the Secretary for the Western region of Canada.

Dr. Robb started surgical practice in 1965, the year in which he received the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in general surgery.

In mid nineties, Dr. Robb began to concentrate on the field of venous surgery and had a growing interest in sclerotherapy. He had read a monogram by Dr. Fegan of the Rotunda in Dublin, and began to realize the potential in this form of treatment. So with modified new surgical techniques and advanced modern techniques in sclerotherapy, the New Westminster Vein Clinic became established as a leader in this field.

The Clinic then started on a course which led to lectures in surgical techniques and sclerotherapy being given in various centres of the world, including Montreal, Quebec City, Whistler, Banff, Vancouver, Toronto, London, San Diego, Chicago, Beijing, Daqing and Seoul. Associated with this came a growing interest in management of pain syndromes, chronic leg ulcers and lymphatic problems. The Clinic has made several contributions to patient management in these fields.

Dr. David Owers and Dr. Dianne Roberts are associated with the Clinic.

Patients can be referred by their doctors to Dr. Robb. Patients may also see the other clinical associates by direct appointment. After consultation with Dr. Robb, patients will be treated by the other clinical associates. Treatments are according to the protocols laid down for the Clinic which are constantly under review.
